McOpera is a charitable company formed by professional musicians, with the emphasis on our excellent outreach and project work.
We have a team of animateurs, composers, directors and conductors ready to set up a complete musical project for your community or classroom, from scratch or to enhance and fit within an existing idea.
Our experienced professional musicians specialise in offering a mentoring side-by-side service to give young instrumentalists and singers an inspiring performance opportunity.
our history
McOpera grew out of Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland which was formed in the spring of 2012 by musicians from The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Scotland’s only fully professional opera orchestra, to provide and generate a range of artistically exciting and diverse work in Scotland.
McOpera has developed a wide portfolio of activity ranging from operatic productions to bespoke recording projects, “Orchestra for Hire" and community outreach projects across a wide social and cultural demographic.
